Hi!
I started creating craft's when I was a young teen. Never for myself, alway's for other's. Sharing my creation's with other's has alway's made me feel happy and proud.
I owe my creativeness and love for craft's to my grandmother. I wasn't able to spend all that much time with her growing up but the time I was able to spend with her was spent in her craft room. I also owe a lot to my parent's. My pop build's model air plane's so when I need something or not sure on something I call him. My mama is big on crocheting. If she isn't watching one of the grandchildren then you can find her with yarn in her hand.
My hubby and our son are my two major supporter's. I do believe I drive them crazy at time's with constantly talking craft's to them but they are trooper's about it and let me go on and on ;)
I started out with wood craft's and painting. My pop's would bring me home piles of wood of all different shape's and size's. I still enjoy creating with wood and paint but my true passion is needle felting.
What is Needle Felting? Needle Felting is a process where by stabbing wool continuously with a barbed needle you start to interlock the wool fibers. Which by doing this, you will start to be able to felt ( stab) the wool into the shape you wish.
There is also Wet Felting which is when hot water is applied to layers of wool, while repeated agitation and compression causes the fibers to hook together or weave together into a single piece of fabric.
I good friend of mine introduced me to needle felting. We were talking crafting and she said "you should try needle felting, you would love it" when she described it to me and I received my started kit in the mail I looked at it and thought "there is no way taking this wool and stabbing it with this needle is going to create anything". Boy was I wrong! When I needle felted that first blue whale I was amazed and thought wow this is the neatest craft ever!
